After many attempts I have made a wood swimbait that has a good unique action and shape. I dont have room for an airbrush any where right now so I just left it natural to see if the action alone is enough to get fish! I have made tons of soft swimbaits but just like the feel that wood baits give the tapping at the tip of your rod so I guess I am making them now (also there too expensive). Any way let me know what you think.

I think a bass colored paint job would go well with its shape.

Not bad for that style, especially for a 1st atempt.
Some suggestions would be 1)position and size the hooks so they can't catch in the joint, lip, each other or the tail. 2)Make a straighter tail. This (I think) will help with #1 and make for a easier kicking bait.

The weather around here has sucked and the water has been DARK!! So I have not cought anything on it but I chucked it around a bit and I really cant wait for spring so I can catch something on it! The hooks catching doesnt seem to be a factor yet. WHat do you think I sould do w/ the tail? Make a solid one like a slammer?

Just my humble opinion, but right now the lure has kind of a crescent shape. If you recarved the tail straighter I think it would be better. Then again there are crescent baits that seem to do well.
If you decide to make the straighter tail, Id make an imaginary line from the line tie eyelet to the bottom hinge eyelet. Extend this line and recarve the wood part of the tail to position the V of the soft tail pointing in-line with this. Either that or run the imaginery line from the line tie to a point 1/2 way between the 2 hinge eyes. Then line up your tail. Doing this should give you a more snakey action rather than the hard to control wobble I'd imagine you now have. By having everything lined up closer to the centerline of the bait you should also get more efficient transfer of energy on the hookset.
