2996, New Travel Rod: Looking for a reel
Posted by J Hinds, Fri Oct-06-06 09:06 PM
Hey All,

I have just picked up a great new travel rod. I am looking for a reel to pair it up with.

THe rod is 6'4" casting (Master Craft). I am looking for a reel that excels at casting light lures, can handle both fresh and salt (I want to stay versatile), and is relatively light weight.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Sorry,

Major Craft, not Master craft.

Line capacity and line class?

I am thiniking about fishing braid for versatility's sake, but I was thinking not more than 8lb diam (notwithstanding the rod specs).

I am not all that concerned about capacity, it is more important to me that the reel be small for travel packing purposes.

Rod Specs as follows:
6'4"
1/4-3/4 oz
10-16lb

Thanks.

The Cardiff is a great deal for $100. If you want a low profile look at the Citica 100DSV. It should be plaeny for both fresh and salt
