1979, Rago's Real Trout Thoughts

Got my baits in hand, so here goes:

What I like:

--killer profile, fins that stick out, detail
--paint job on both the regular and ghost trout is solid. The ghost and the harness is a bit funky since you see the harness, but that is to be expected in a ghost color.
--size, little bulkier than the Hudd
--tail design, oh gawd, here goes, the tail looks killer, not sure how it swims yet, but design looks slick
--open mouth: good for looking different, profile, realism, etc
--Hook: good hook, good size

What I don't like:

--no belly ring
--no belly ring
--no belly ring
--did I mention, no belly ring? On the ghost color, it is painfully clear how easy this was to do, in the first release here.
--open mouth: well, since no belly ring, I'm assuming we're dragging bottom, so the open mouth will snag, catch and grab stuff. Notice, I said it was a good thing, but also noting its negative side. (no, I know you don't have to drag bottom here 100% of the time). The open mouth could definitely effect the swim too...at high speed does that mouth open up? Seriously...that thing is limp rubber at the mouth.
--smell, air your baits out, and apply attractant liberally
--packaging: for a bait with pertruding fins, the packaging is well, mediocre...your baits could be shipped with a fin or tail sorta kinked up
--paint job: well, the paint job around the tail...specifically the wedge and "backside" of the tail...on my regular trouts, some of the backside of the tail is white or barely painted...need a dark tail or green tail throughout.

Jerry: You are the man, and you are awesome at what you do. Clearly, this bait is stepping into the Hudd department. Add a belly ring, and you are money....and (reverse psychology in play here) whatever you do, don't make a ROF5 style here...that kinda slow fall or a 10-12" model. That would be awful.

My thoughts....
