He's shipping the internet orders out first. The demand(tackle stores) is out-stripping the supply but he's workin' hard to get them to us as soon as he can.

His site show's them weighing the same as the Bluegills but I haven't weighed either of them. I think(?) they fall at about 2 feet per second.

They weigh just under 1.5 ounces. They fish light. It is easy to fish them shallow without reeling to fast. I will have to fix the weight on the website.

perfect
what rod do you reccomend......my swimbait rod (cardiff 300 with diawa heartland rod)

or curado 100b with 55lb braid and 6'10 jig rod

basically....heavy tackle or lighter?

either will work. this is a small swimbait. It realy doesnt require special hevy gear. I does get big bites though so use heavy line. I normaly use a 7ft hvy rod and 15-20lb test.

No, I've had no trouble keeping them at the depth I want to reel them in at and I reel them at a moderate pace.

In 2 weeks the new "Platinum" Series, Super Real baits will be available. There are 23 colors and 2 of them are Baby Bass and Ghost Baby Bass...So a 6" or a 8" Slow Sinking or Floater might work for you...just theowing it out there for you.

jason, I wish you luck on your new line of baits.
With all this talk of new big trout baits maybe I will play too. I have a new 8in and a 10in ultra realistic soft trout bait that I was planning on keeping for myself this coming year but maybe I will sell a few. They will definatly rival the Hudd in action and looks and have a leval fall with different sink rates. I cant promise anything yet, it will just depend on how much time I have.

Matt,
I don't think you should wait. Never wait on lures that people want and you can sell. As you mentioned, if you have time...I would like to extend my hand and offer our manufacturing capabilities. We currently manufacture lures for 3 other companies, all make swim bait...we have the factory in Mexico and we work with 2 factories in China.

And as far as Ken goes...all the lure companies that have come, some gone...have had very unique design aspects to their lures. As long as you concentrate on what got you into designing lures in the first place and believe in that...your lures will always shine. No matter what existing bait company comes up with or what "new" guy pops up on the seen. Good luck.

PS. Super Matt, no mean taken. Ask Jerry Rago why he got into the business?? And Jerry is a very good friend of ours. Castaic Soft Bait, Inc. has motivated a lot of bait makers over the last 10 years...Just give me 2 more weeks.

Thanks,
Jason...
