We have 1 spot available on the Wavewalker leaving out of Santa Barbara (Marina 3) on Sunday April 7th at 5:45 am. This is a 3/4 day 6 pak charter and we will be fishing for salmon. All rods and tackle are provided by the boat. We have a group of 5 good guys going and need one more to make it a 6 pack.

The cost is $100 per person. Bring your own food and beverage. Since this is short notice, please contact me only if you are interested and can pay the $100. Should be a great day as there have been a lot of salmon caught locally in recent days.

email me at eric_mcmurtry @ urscorp.com

check out the boat:

This is embarassing. We had all the right tackle, we were fishing in the right depth in the right place with the right equipment and with a good group of guys on a good boat with a knowledgable captain. While many boats caught limits, we didn't even get a strike. I would be really curious and open to any suggestions to find out if we were doing anything incorrectly on Sun. We were using similar setups to everyone that was catching fish. I'm racking it up to some bad mojo or personal payback from a previous life.

On a side note, The Wavewalker was a great boat to charter. Capt. David Bacon is a really nice, easy going, knowledgeable guy. I was really impressed by the rod/reel combos and tackle that he has on board available for passengers. The boat was super fast and rode really smooth in the water. Great 6 pak boat. I am definitely going to charter this boat again and would recommend it to anyone else.

Tight Lines!

I wouldn't be embarrased if I were you. You had a day of fishing with your friends, the weather was nice and you weren't at work. Sounds pretty good to me. Personally I have had many days where we zeroed out on the target species. It happens. Thats why it's called fishing not catching. Hopefully you learned some new techniques and approaches to catching salmon and thats way more important than a couple of fish. You'll get 'em next time.

Yeah, it was a lot of fun and I was not dissapointed about not catching. It's funny though, after years of fishing, I've seen it time and time again, when an angler will be catching fish and someone nearby, using identical techniques and equipment, will go for nada.

I'll be out there again real soon as I really want some of that fresh red meat to make a huge tray of sushi! I'm still salivating.
