2045, What do you think? It's my first rod rack. (Pics)

I’m just playing around with the wood working in the garage. I made this rod rack out of Red Wood. It has such awesome color in both the raw sanded finish and after the polyurethane was applied. My camera really doesn’t do it justice. It will hold about 5 or 6 rods with reels attached, or 8 or 10 rods alone. It all depends on how I decide to space out the clamps that will mount across the top. This is my first attempt, so be kind, and let me know what you think. Be a critic and tell me how you would improve it. So far, my only regret is making the top cross-member a 1x2. Next time I going to make it a 1x4 just like the lower sections.

Talk to you later,

Terry G.

Hey I think that it looks pretty darn good. I have been thinking about building one myself. Post a pic when you get finished. Keep up the good work.

Thats a good looking rack you got there. Are you sure you built it or did you buy that at the New Yankee work shop....
The only thing I would have done different was place another piece of wood at a 45 degree angle at the back between both boards so that the rods would be forced to lean back. Other than that its a nice rack....never thought I would tell a guy he had a nice rack....hahaha

I am selling this one as is. It is still exactly as it appears in the photo. It just needs the rod holder clamps to complete the projet. I only want $20. to buy more material so I can can make a new and improved one. Come pick it up with money in hand and it's yours!!!
