Mateo Andersen Pelissier
10lbs 6oz.
DOB: 12-5-00, 9:34 p.m.

He arrived by C-section after 12hrs of unproductive induced labor. He seems to be very healthy, and looks and acts a lot like me. Fat, thick dark hair, and loves to eat. Lisa is doing good, though she has really only slept since the operation. The nurses said she should recover pretty quickly.

This is one crazyass experience.

I introduced myself to the surgeons as the "deer in the headlights", and 5 hours later this feeling has only increased. I have been close to death many times in my 30 years on this planet. But, I have never been so scared as I was when I heard his first cry. I cannot fathom the depth of what is now in my care. May God grant me much wisdom and love in the next 18+ years.

Thanks for all your prayers and support and may he be fishing soon,
Amish Ed

WHEN I do catch a double digit bass you can be sure that I'll post. Can't wait till Mateo can join me in or on the water.

Naw, no rod for him. But, I'm getting one to celebrate. He has to use mine until he is big enough to walk.

Congratulations!

I'm (we're) expecting a little fisherman in March. Don't know the sex yet but whatever it is I'm sure it will fit in a float tube. I wonder how small you can get waders? :)

They have these pool things for kids. They look like a bright yellow floattube that uses a wheelbarrow tube. Should be able to tether one up, use a heavy plastic bag and some sweats for waders, and he's ready to go. I used to teach kids swimming, so probably not this year, but definitely the next he'll be out there.

BTW, I got an 8' Seeker Classic 15-40lb in celebration of the event. Just think of it as a big e-glass cigar.

Yeah I think my kids will have to learn to swim before they learn to walk!
