;) Hi i just signed up for this site because i need some help fishing my family has no fishing history except for my older brother winning a troutfishing derby at apollo park by dumb luck...

i have been trying to learn how to fish for a long time i go fishing about 1 a weekend or twice ive caughten fish... but i need a technique that i know will be good.... ive tried fishing apollo park alot and i dont know what is good for there i think i just get lucky i dont know what size hook i usually use a 4 or 6 treble hook on a 7 pound line i dont know how much weight to put or nothing... im going to the aquaduct tomorrow...which will be sunday i have read alot of the stuff about aquaduct fishing on this site and i think it will help my chances....:-D if u have any tips or anything on castaic,lake elizabeth,apollo park, or pier fishing...plz... let me know i need to learn

Evan, I don't fish those specific lakes you mentioned but I can suggest that you check out all the "how-to" articles Rob has on this website. They are under 'freshwater' and 'saltwater' on the menu. Lots of good info. For good pier info, check out www.pierfishing.com

Hi Evan,

Have you considered joining a bass club? Most clubs have a miniumum age limit of 16 so you should fit right in. That would be the best thing to do so you could gain lots of experience from all types of fisherman. Or try to get together with some one who knows the lakes and let them show you the ropes. I would willing to arrange a trip to Castiac in between tournaments. If interested we could make arrangements to meet up at the lake.
