I've had some feedback that people using AOL for their internet connection are not able to view photos in the gallery, they get a red X instead of an image. I don't know what the problem with AOL is but it appears to work fine otherwise in Internet Explorerer / Firefox.

A workaround that appears to be working is to run Internet Explorer outside of AOL. Basically just minimize AOL then start Internet Explorer and browse the net that way.

If you are having this problem, send me a mail via the contact form so I can get a sense of how prevalent it is.

Hey Rob, I use AOL and always have. I have never had any problumes viewing pictures on the gallery. Just wanted to let you know. Great site, by the way. :)

ok thanks for the feedback. I'm suspecting that there is some setting in AOL that is causing this, probably some advertisement or pornogrpaphy blocking thing to do with a certain version of AOL. If anyone figures it out, please let me know.

Do you keep messing with the galleries? I've noticed that when I post pictures on other sites that are hosted in my gallery every once in a while they'll stop showing images and switch to red X's. But this week I have had this process repeat itself for 4 days in a row... I post pic, it works, next day its dead. Reload it with the URL updated and it works, next day its a red X. This is happening everywhere that I put up photos from this site so I was wondering if you are tinkering and its reloading or something? Thanks.

Hm, no I haven't been making any changes to the gallery. Let me try a few things and see what happens. It's a fairly new release of the gallery software, when I get some time I'll go up to the latest version. Sorry for the hassles. It's stemming from the fact that everything is dynamic now, but I can't explain beyond that.

Im having problems too, and I dont use AOL. I go to your sight through Explorer. I can see the thumbnails, but when I click on them to make them bigger I get the red x.

I thought you were either messing with the site or I had a bug.

I don't have any problems viewing the pictures, but I do have problems with a few of the videos. Just what you wanted to hear, right Rob? :-)

For you guys that can't open the photos like me I have found a way to look at them. I have to click on latest photo then member galleries. I can then view photos without the red X.

Thanks for the feedback. I can't pinpoint what the problem is, probably if I had to guess, its some setting in Internet Explorer that is preventing dynamically generated images from being displayed but regardless... next week when I can find some time I'll update the Gallery to the latest release and we'll see what happens.
