Hi Everyone,

Would someone tell me a good fishing spot in the Ventura Area where the 101 Freeway meets the 126 Freeway? I would like to kick back on the rocks, eat foods and hope to catch a Sand bass or two.

I spent of most my life fishing in San Diego and I really haven't fish the Los Angeles area because the water aren't clean.

I hope that is different in the Ventura area. Thanks.

Just thought I'd reply to ya since nobody else did. I don't know any specific spots, but if you're looking for sand bass, you might want to find access to water a outside the surfline. They tend to not hang out in the surf I my experience. Try squid strips about 2"-4" long and 0.5" to 1" wide hooked multiple times at one end with a smallish hook (about a 2 or so). That should get you a sandbass it ones in yer zip code.

You might want to target surfperch if you're going to be hitting up the beach. Sandcrabs you dig up yourself work good as do grubs (so I am told) with small sinkers. I have luck looking for concentrations of sandcrabs and fishing there. You also catch small leopard sharks and shovelnose guitarfish like this. Wait till it stop rainin that go get some! Good luck.
