Well, I got a new Personal Best at Lopez this weekend.

Overall fishing was pretty slow with just a few 2-3lbers taken with white spinnerbaits and rattletraps being the most productive. The water level is low and temp was 60-62 degrees and about 3 foot visability. Got out early on Sunday and that is where the fun began!

The wind was down and it was a great morning on the lake. We had nothing, which was par for the trip, until about 8am when we noticed some baitfish activity and birds diving for baitfish off a main point. I tied on a soft jerkbait that seemed like it would match the baitfish and on my second cast I stuck a hog. It weighed in at 7.1lbs, my best fish ever!!:-) My buddy saw this and tied on a Senko. We spent another 20 minutes or so and were just about ready to move off when he stuck his own hog! It came in at 6.0lbs! Another 10 minutes and he got another one with the Senko, this one came in at 5.5lbs. The bass are definately in a pre-spawn/staging pattern and that 5.5 was full of eggs.

30 minutes and 3 hogs totaling 18.6# on one point!!:D And no camera on the boat! It sure made our weekend. We kept fishing that point and a couple of others for another hour and called it a day.

After handling that hog I can't imagine what hooking into a double digit fish would be like!!!:D
