Barbz and I fished El Cap from first light till 9am. Worth getting up early for. I was working a rock point that bass were boiling on, and I caught my first largemouth on a fly.

OMG! Fighting largemouth on a flyrod is VERY different than standard gear. The fish definitely has the upper hand in the case of a fly noob like me. Put him in the live well while I dug out my scale and measuring board then took another shot before the release.

2.75lb, 19”er. Sweeeeet! I was using this Cabelas fly on 8lb floro. I trimmed the belly with scissors to make it more fish shaped.
