Pretty much a cookie cutter day as we had last fri. aboard "Salty Balls" except the bass wasn't as big. Lost fish was my story this day, first thing in the morning I hooked up to a very nice bass on the leadcore w/a 3" trap rigged Hammer, that I ended up breaking off. I thought because of to much pressure on the 4lb. flouro leader but 6" of very torn up line told the story. I'm going to start using 6 or 8 lb. leader on the downriggers & leadcore. We went through quite a dry spell with only short bites teasing us? Lots of "bumps" today once or twice, sometimes sticking for a minute or 2 then coming off. I'm guessing Bluegill but don't know?

After putting on a few 1.5 - 2.5 lb. bass I hooked into this very feisty LM that made a few loooong runs that had me thinking striper:

We worked pretty hard for another lost fish halfway to the boat but this one was a trout. I got one more short bite before Karl got the job done on a Pearl Hammer we had added a black stripe to after seeing some of the silversides out of the belly of Karl's trout last week:

We heard the marina was full of stockers but we thought it was worth while working for the hold overs like this male that keep bringing us back here:

They have some awesome looking trout in that lake. Wish I lived close enough to fish it.

Trooling over the high spots seems to produce alot of bass more than boring a$$ drop shotin most guys are having 3 or 4 fish days workin hard w/plastics. If I was to target Bass I would trool plugs on points and high spots 30-50 ft. let me know when you might get out here Ill try to hook up with ya

Those can't be trout--they have full fins. Must be some other species. LOL!
