I fished the island pond from 8:30 till about 4, with only 1 fish to show for it. I know the island pond is better than that, what am I doing wrong?!? I talked to some other tubers and one of them had 2, one had 4, two had 7 between the two of them in an hour 'n' a half (i over heard their conversation) and one had 14(!!!). So what's up, what am I doing wrong? I usually work plastics around the shore line, and a crank or two, top water, no blades this time. The guy that caught 14 said he was using everything, cranks, worms, you name it. He had like 3 witnesses so I know he wasnt pulling my chain. I know I can't be that hopeless...

Oh fish was caught drop shotting a 3" worm, was about 2#.

I have your answer Leif. The basic problem is that you suck!! Im sorry bud, but there is no other way around it. The fish gods are angry at you, and you will be punished. Might as well send me that new flippin stick and quit while you can. Like I say always, if you brag about your fish, then you will be skunked. If you compliment other fisherman, you will be rewarded. You were going off on me on allcoast, so the fish are going off on you. I am sorry to see that you have been given the curse.

Every time I read your report from Shadow Cliffs you are drop shotting in the back ponds. I think you need to try some more reaction stuff like the manns mid 1- crank or a red speed trap. Also mix in some 20lb flipping action with a black/red jig or a black/anything reaper. I may be giving advice but I got skunked today too at San Pablo....

what chu talking 'bout willis? this is the first time i drop shotted s.c. I may have used drop shot worms, but not actually drop shotting. I threw a speed trap for a good amount of time, i was debating between that and the minus 1, next time i'll throw the other. I flipped the bushes, but not with jigs persay, i was using a florida rigged tube, man that thing goes through the tree's nicely. unfortunatly i can't go fishing there again for like 3 weeks cuz my parents are going out of town over 3 weekends (#$%^#@#$) so i'll have to stock up on some stuff won't i? I'm getting like 2 new rods, so watch out island pond, you going down next time!!!! LOL }>
