12959, Pictures of your first big fish

We'll I thought I would ask a question. Does anyone have pictures of your first big fish? Here are some of mine. They are digital picts of poloroids so they arent great but they are 20 years old. The one that says 29 is 26 and vise versa. So lets see um boys.

Nice fish! Where were you in those pics? Nor. Cal.?? Delta stripers??

I just started at 18 yrs. old. So, my pics are limited. When I do get a scanner I will post the pics I have.

Same here on the scanner dealy situation. I think my first legitimate big fish was a 6 lb. lmb I caught when I was 5. That was on a 2 ft. Zebco rod fishing for bluegill. Other than that, I got a 15 lb. yellow when I was 8.

LOL...LMAO...ROTFL...

Kellen, for a second there I thought the guy with the beard was not wearing anything from the waist down...

I finally noticed it was some kaki colored pants...
That was funny man...lol
NICE fish though...
Sounds like you guys got lots of fishing experience...

My first big one came when I was about 10 yrs old...
I caught a 7 lb Calico Bass of the rocks near what is now called Rainbow Harbor...
No pictures but man was that exciting...
I had it stolen by some stupid cat and only found the tail...
My older brother was going to have it mounted for me...
Caught it on a squid sented tube...
To me that will always be the biggest because of the memory of the day and the catch...

I also have a 8lb LM Bass out of Folsom Lake...

Good post Okiebug...

Not a big one, but the first one at a pretty young age:
http://www.ellismckinney.com/images/1stbass.jpg

And I guess this was my first big one, 138# Yellowfin at 12. I also got a approximately 120 lb Blue Marlin (small marlin) at 10.

Heres the tuna:

I got my first Chinook at the age of 5, which was a big fish too...guess it comes down to what you consider big :)

But I guess I got a really early start, as you can see in the first pic...my first word was 'ish' (trying to say fish).

Ok guys don't flip your lid! This is the only CA lm-bass that I ever kept. It was a legal catch at Little Rock Reservoir. I do believe in catch & release. The lm-bass was about 8 lbs. The striper was about 13 lbs. The cat was about 10 lbs.

My "biggest" was 8 lbs and I caught her 30+ years ago. I don't think they even had invented cameras by then:-) .

Here is a recently caught 6 lber;

Btw, I had her on a stringer just so I could get the camera/tripod set up. She was returned in good health'

Fishee nice fish all mine were caught at pyramid lake,ca

Calico A 15lb yellow probably fights harder than all my stripers combined expecally at 8 years old.

Skinnerfreek could you show me where the fish are in that lake I cant find them.

Chuy I still havent broken the 7lb mark on a calico yet

Those are all great picts
what I ment by big fish was in relationship to your size as person like the bass that is half the size of kellen (cool photo bro)
Keep them coming

This was my first BIG fish and still one of the heaviest fish I've ever caught. 44# King from the south fork of the Eel River. It bit a dime size piece of roe while I was steelhead fishing. Luckily it decided to fight upstream, if it had gone downstream it would have spooled me for sure.

The best I can do is my biggest limit of tourney fish. All the fish are mine in the pic. 14.90 pounds at Success. good enough for second place that day. I'm the guy on the right.

That guy should NOT be holding those bass horizontal!
Their jaws break easily. Not to mention swinging them. Good grief.

What good is catch and release if you break them?

Here's a few that at the time were just about the best catches I'd ever made

28" Halibut from the goleta pier, my first legal:

http://calfishing.com/images/rob/scans/rob_goleta_pier_28inch_halibut.jpg

2lb trout from Huntington Lake (back when a 13 inchers was a big one) This was cool because I was fishing by myself when I caught it and netted it myself which was a big deal to me.

The biggest golden trout I've ever caught

Check out these pics :)
Those aren't my first fish, but I still remember catching some of those. We caught the first ones on panther martens and that was about the coolest ever because my dad and I got 7 trout which was our best trout trip ever. The second pic is brook trout from Huntington (yes they planted brookies one year) and the last pic is mono hot springs. Note the determination. yeah buddy.

Here's a couple shots scanned from snapshots: Sacramento River salmon with my sons and brother a couple of years ago. My brother had the big fish of the day, around 45 lbs. The other shot is a 38 lb BFT caught on 20lb test on a trip out of San Diego last year (I know, not exactly freshwater, but my big fish are few and far between!).
