Fished Lake Los Carneros in Goleta this evening for 7 bass, 1 bluegill, and 1 green sunfish. I haven't seen a green sunfish come out of there since the late 80's so that was kind of interesting. The bluegill and the green sunfish were pretty good sized but the bass weren't. The bluegill population seems to be better than it has been in years. Most of the bass were at least 12 inches but a couple were pretty small. I caught all of my fish on a weightless 5 inch Salt Shaker Worm in Watermelon Red and a 3 inch Silverside colored Big Hammer. Bryan and Brian also caught about the same amount of fish each using crankbaits and flipping soft plastics.

Yeah I fished with Pete and the other Brian yesterday. The bite was better than It was on Sunday. I stuck 3 bass on a 1/8 oz speed trap in a crawdad pattern. And I also caught 3 fish flipping. It was interesting today, the fish were deffinately keying on the shade, I never got bit in a sunny spot. My flip fish were my better fish and they were caught on an Assalt Twin Tail spider grub in Sugar Magnolia. I only brought one grub with me (Doh!) So after my first fish it was chewed. I used some other baits but the fish were just short biting anything that was much bigger than that grub. So I ended up pitching a baby brush hog and that caught my last two. It was a pretty good day all in all but the fish wern't hammering my bait that was for sure, lots of pressure bites today.
