Im thinking of fishing this Monday. But Im not sure which one to hit. Perris or Castaic? Can anyone give some direction? Im due for a few good fish. Anyone have the latest info on either lake.

I can't say much for Castaic since I have'nt been there in a long while but I would still choose it over Perris. I've hit Perris quite a bit lately and it hasn't been too kind.

Perris is super clear right now, 12ft+ visibility. I like it much better a little stained. The fish are definetly moving into the shallows to spawn but everyone and their grandma is up fishing for them, they are real spooky with the clear water and heavy pressure. Weekend traffic is beyond ridiculous right now, the warmer weather has brought out all the speed boats,jet-skis, wakeboarders and not too mention the fishing tournaments every weekend. I thought DVL was suppossed to take some of the pressure off Perris, not sure if it's helped??

Sorry for no specifics on tactics but I have been just chucking swimbaits everytime around all the usual spots for nothing but a few follows, and the couple shallow fish I threw at showed me no love either.

I'm done with Perris till the weather is crappy or I can hit it on a weekday.

Castaic was pretty hard today. My buddy & I landed only 2 fish. Spoke to some other people on the water who got skunked using a pig & jig. Water is stained in most of the lake and muddy in other parts. Used cranks & plastic and also threw the hud without any luck. Castaic might be tough monday as there is a nbw tourney on sunday.
