16507, Western Sierra Trout trip w/pics

Ok, Here is the reason I was not at the Sonoma County Belly Boaters State Classic at Clear Lake this past weekend. A buddy of mine reserves a cabin along with all his dad’s retiree buddies up at Mono Hot Springs on the Western Sierras every year. I have not been up there in about 4 years. So this trip was planned about 6 months ago. If you are into Trout fishing, this is a great place to go this time of year. We caught many Rainbows that had coloring that I had never seen before. The Rainbows had excessive black dots and bright colors. The Brown trout were just plain cool to look at. Most were caught using Kastmasters with orange in it. We fished Ward Lake, Edison Lake (best fishing at the back, only access is by boat, we rented one for $65 for the day) and we fished some rivers (in the area) that I can’t remember the name of.

A great weekend trout fishing!

Bryan
