Mission Viejo Lake_10.17.09
Between Little League Sign ups, B ball game and daughters Volleyball I was bound to fish with my bro before he flew back to the Islands.
Met him at the lake at 2:30 and we headed out for a 3.5 hour countdown...

Started out fishing the Tortilla Flat area for nothing made a quick move towards the back of the lake. Dropshot was steady for a small grade of bass.

We then noticed something Amazing...

Double digit bass hanging under the boat, next fish caught was almost to the boat all of a sudden BIG bass sucks the small bass in. Open the bail and he starts rippin line, 30 seconds later set the hook\bass on a toad for sure but spits the bass out.

My buddy got a couple on a sammy and then it happened again except now we see TWO 10+ bass. Next dropshot fish my friend gets freight trained by the two bass (I think I saw wake coming off there fins) The spinning rod is a light rod rated 4-8 and has 5 pound Maxima spooled on it. The bass gets engulfed by a BIG'n you could not hand feed the line fast enough finally set the hook\bass and the rod is bent in half. I get on the trolling motor and back down on the fish as he can not pull hard enough Fish comes up and wants to jump (NO) we get a good glance jumps and spits the bass. The little bass fluters the big bas turns and en-hails the fish again only on for a split second then spits it and bails.

I don't even know what just happened, I have never seen anything like it. These fish were mean and wanting to eat, we were not fishing live bait this was all animal instinct.
We could of both had our PB's on the same day, I am jonesing to go back need to stock up on some big baits.............

The fish at LMV have been doing this more and more every year. They will even chase you in your boat while you are moving. My boat does around 4.5mph and I have had them right in my wake chasing the boat. I call them hitchhikers :-)

Thanks for the report.
