17832, Clear Lake Elite Series - Day 1
Posted by swimbait, Thu Mar-18-10 07:29 AM
Well gang. It's been building up to a broiling hot March heat wave in Nor-Cal this week. Yesterday evening the time and temp down the way from my house read 78 degrees. Should make for an interesting event for the Clear Lake Bassmasters Elite Seires. Will the fish lock up and get on beds? Will they be just days away - suspending and lockjaw? Will someone find prespawn fish that want to bite in spite of it all?

For certain, Clear Lake has a huge population of 3lb bass in it right now. You have to expect that anyone who slows down with a drop shot, shakey head, or senko will be able to catch 16-18lbs. But will anyone be able to find a 30lb sack out there? With the lake nearly full, will some interesting backwaters open up - and will they fill up with giant bass on beds?

The BassCast camera is on Skeet today.
