17944, Bassmaster postseason... Who is a fan??

Skeet's lost the AOY to KVD two years in a row and this is after Skeet had one best seasons in Bassmaster history. I'm not sure how the points are broke down after the regular season but it sure doesn't seem like the guy who has done the best during the regular season has won the AOY title the last two years. Anybody else have any thoughts on this??

+1 Jake

I don't like the format either. They carry over their points with them but their season is wiped out and it's determined by the last 2 tourneys. It should have been Skeet's trophy hands down.

Its either time to boycott BASS and pulling my freshly renewed magazine subscription or they change the format back to the way it was. We as fishermen need to speak out( of course they will think we are all just West Coast honks) and tell them what we think.

I don't like it. There's way too many variables outside of the fishermen's control to put so much emphasis on the last two tournaments. It's not like golf, car racing, tennis, baseball, basketball, hockey or most any other sports. It's bass fishing, and with so many variables like time of year, conditions, and venue - the best angler should be decided based on the whole season.

Really I think Skeet lost because he had to fish out of one of the new Stratos Champions. His old boat was good luck, his new boat clearly is not. When they brought him a replacement boat in that tourney about 3 events back he lost two 5lbers right away. Can't mess with lucky boat ju ju.
