10k entry fee for the regional. ouch. Cool concept but I doubt it will last on a mainstream channel like NBC

It's on the "NBC Sports Network" which used to be "Spike" and originally it was "Outdoor Life Network". It carries a lot of hunting and fishing shows...so this isn't the mainstream NBC, but more of a specialized sportsman channel. They do carry the Tour de France and are planning on some hockey coverage.

So John - you gonna apply? Applications are due by August 3. With the short window between the announcement and the application deadline who knows, maybe it won't be crazy hard to get on?

The issue I read about the regional entry is 10k is hard to swallow. I understand the top 35% make 15k but still. I am headed to clear lake right now for 3 days and will call you to talk about this more in detail. Sure sounds like a cool deal

It's free to apply to the reality show. They're going to take 8 people. The winner of the reality show gets paid entry to the first event ($10k value).

I want to send in a video application as well, but I do not have what they consider a "bass tournament style boat"

Hey I fished team tourneys for a few years out of my 15' jon with a 15hp. It seemed like a tournament style boat to me :) Maybe if you put in a video with your current boat they'd take you so you could represent for the guy without the glitter rocket? :0) Why not right!

My boat works, and I am fishing the BBT tourneys out of it this year. No new boat for me until this one sinks or the motor blows up.

Interesting, they are going to have this some where on the west coast also? I haven't read anything on it except a little intro piece.

If nothing else, it is a great video of what you believe and feel right now about fishing and obviously much more. It is a wonderful documentation of yourself and family right now that you will have forever.

Thx dude. I enjoyed making the video. I think as you get older fishing becomes something different than when you're younger. It's more about the experience than the catching. Don't get me wrong, I still want to catch fish bad, and I get all fired up to be on the water and fish for big ones or do tournaments, but it's different now with kids.

I thought they were going to post the contestants for the show today but nothing yet. Hopefully they take a least a couple guys from the west coast. Zach Thompson should get on for sure, and there were some other good application videos. I think it'd be cool if they took a kickboater like Carson Riley too.

Ken Mah got in. Pretty cool and a solid stick. At least now we know the caliber of anglers they are looking for

Hey Rob - It was great seeing the little man out on the boat with you.

They announced the contestants today. I think the key to getting on the show is having a tournament shirt with a lot of logos on it. I googled 3 of the guys and they all had cool shirts on in their pictures. :P I should have found a cooler shirt.

Would like some pointers about where to take Myles bass fishing in central California.
