fished from 11 - 7 today at the lake. Started out fishing for crappie in the back of lake but had no luck. The
shad were back there but not on the surface because you could see them on the meter and the birds were
getting them. I was going to just go home but I stopped off at jackass canyon on my way back to throw the
AC minnow a little. Third cast I got whomphed on about 10 feet from the boat and landed a nice 4.3
pounder. This got me motivated to stay a little longer and as I worked down the bank I nailed another bass
about 2lb. Getting towards the back of the cove I had another huge strike close to the boat and landed a
5.3, my second largest this year at the lake. I picked up one more about 2lb in jackass and had another 4-5
pounder chase the minnow all the way to the boat but miss it. The afternoon was slow and I fished mostly
back by the dam. In the evening it turned on again though in the marina cove and I picked up a 3, 3.8, and
another 4.3 all in about 15 minutes over some trees. Pretty epic day really, can't wait to get out there again.
If only there was no such thing as school....
