Got to Margarita on thurs afternoon fished till dark from the shore around the boat launch. Caught a 6 1/2 pounder and lost another one even bigger. Fished the next day from a boat towards the northern part of the lake. Got nothing not even a bite between the 3 of us. Maybe it was too muddy up there? Came back in the early afternoon fished around the boat launch and killed em. Biggest was around 11 lbs. I will send the picture in when my buddy sends it to me. All the fish we caught were above 5 lbs. Makes for some fun...... Oh yeah chovies chovies chovies the bigger the better. I think the big guys are feeding on all the dead planters, never got a single bite on mackeral between the 3 of us!Hope this helps all of you lazy butts who like to just sit around and catch fish.

I wish I was still in college! Those were the days when you could fish everyday. Must be nice. My buddies came up from Santa Barbara and me down from San Francisco. Margarita proves to be the best half way point for us. We make it out there a lot in the summer but only about once or twice every couple months in the winter. We camp so it gets too damn cold. I am sure we will be back out there in another month or so. Make sure those cats keep biting and keep those big bass pictures coming! The bass should be red hot in a couple weeks when the weather warms up. Keep me posted if you see any big cats come out. See ya.....

No weight and leave your bail open. When you see your line taking off. Fish on!!!!!!!!
