Well for my first try at these freshwater bass it was pretty dismal. I prefished on Sat. from 6:30 to 3:30 for 2 bites. I was feeling really bummed until I met up with some locals at the end of the day. They all said it was super-slow. So then I was only sorta bummed. I guess the backside of that weather front put the fish down. Sunday proved worse. Out of all the contestants (14 tubers) only 2 had legal fish to weigh-in. The 2 points leaders who were fighting for tuber of the year also got skunked. I had no bites even. The wind was terrible, it started around 9:30 and blew hard. I was getting wet from kicking upwind into the waves. But, I still had fun. It was a great group to fish with, and I'm more ready than ever to try the fresh again. Thanks to all those who lent me their advice, I'll put to use again shortly. Any advice on SoCal lakes to try. Preferably south of SB.
