Seth and I got to the lake around 5pm with windy conditions. Rather than fight it we fished the marina cove.
About 45 minutes of fishing later I had a solid 4 fish charge up and eat my ac minnow in full view at the
boat. We both let out a whoop but the fish spit it out. Damn! Working the backs of the cove I got two fish
2-3lb's on the minnow over brush piles as we fought the wind. Coming out of the marina cove past the docks
I hooked up a solid fish on the minnow that went 3lb 15oz and put up a nice fight. Then Seth got in on the
action with a nice three pounder on a 7" power worm in shallow water. The wind died down some so we
jetted (you can't really jet in my boat but you get the picture) over to white oak to finish it off. I picked up
another 2 something on the minnow and then In the back of the cove Seth had a nice fish hooked up on a
popper but lost it. After seeing that, the first real topwater action of the year in my boat, I switched to my
megabass pop-x that I've been dying to try and in the next cove landed 5 with each one getting bigger from
about 8 inches to the last fish which was probably 2 and a half. It was a great day at the lake despite the
wind.
