6955, Castaic Striper Derby Results are up
Posted by CastaicDave, Mon Nov-25-02 06:10 PM
The fish are getting fatter, the average per fish weight is up each week, and more fish are being caught.
We have a new guy in second place for big fish and he is in 3rd for over all weight, he went from 31st place to 3rd in 1 week (and all from the shore!) Congrats to Robert Flaata for fishing so hard!
There's some bigger fish than what we have seen so far, so get your trout baits and your A.C. Plugs and get out there, your only one cast away from $300.
There so far has been 117 fish weighed in for 1360 pounds that comes out to a per fish average of 11.62 pounds.
Good Fishing
Dave

KPN,
Rob is using poppers. The fish he is sticking are coming from the East shoreline and off the dam. I've been sticking my fish on 8"
pencil poppers.

Yes he was fishing from shore.
And he got another 18 pounder today.
The guy is on fire right now.

-Shane
7204, It just goes to show you
Posted by CastaicDave, Fri Dec-06-02 07:07 AM
that you dont have to have a boat to catch good fish.

I agree Rob is on fire, and a good guy too!
Dave
7231, Delay in posting the results this week.
Posted by CastaicDave, Mon Dec-09-02 07:23 AM
But there has been a 25# fish weighed in by a new guy, his partner weighed in a 20.6. There is only one week left, Sunday at 12 noon is the last time to weigh in fish. Everyone has the same chance to catch some Christmas cash. One cast could win either $300, $200, or $100! There should be a trout plant this week.

Thank's Guy's, I'll pass on all your kind words!
It's the biggest fish I've seen come out of Castaic. Reminded me of the "Good Old" days at Pyramid.

Tell Ed that I said good job. Not too many that big come out of there.
Robert got one that big about three months ago and I took a 26 pounder last year.

7258, Sure hope folks turn out for the Awards ceremony
Posted by CastaicDave, Tue Dec-10-02 09:05 PM
We have more product than fish weighed in.
Today we were given several swim baits, pencil popers, lots of line, and jigs for the Derby drawings. I still have to go to J&T Tackle! Everyone who weighed in fish will be eligable for the drawing prizes with the top prize being a new Phenix Rod, but in order to win you must be present to win!
God bless
Dave
7261, This last weeks results are up.

The results are already obsolete, one of our very on board members had caught big fish. Did They Plant trout yesterday?

Dave,
I'm sorry but I don't understand what your saying. Who caught
what big fish?

-Shane
7285, On monday ...
Posted by CastaicDave, Fri Dec-13-02 06:27 AM
Team striper caught a 26, which keeps the controversial fish out of the top $ prize.
Dave
7286, We have tons of product.
Posted by CastaicDave, Fri Dec-13-02 06:32 AM
I hope all who fished this event will show up at the weigh in. we have some fantastic product to be given out in the drawings that will come the weigh slips.
The Rod from Phenix came in yesterday and I wish I could keep it for my self.
Y'all pass the word so we will have a good turn out.
National Bass will be having thier thing going on at the same time so it could be confusing!
See yall there.
