That is an awesome puddle-fish.
There is a pond in a park in north OC that is only open to kids and adults accompanying kids. No lone adults are allowed to fish. I noticed that it showed up on the DFG plant list a month or two ago. I had never seen it on the list. I've also heard that there is bass in it.

Last weekend my son and I were on our way home from BWW, and we stopped to eat our El Conejo lunch (Across the street from BWW, great mexican food.) at this park. It was the same madhouse as DaKine described at his pond. I was imagining the splash that a couple of 12" castaics would make in the center of that pond. After seeing the hog that you caught, I think we'll try some slammers in this pond on our next trip to BWW.
