Time for my bi-weekly request for info... Hitting the San Gabriel with my collection of fish scaring flies this weekend. Any suggestions on good spots to keep and eye out for? Thanks to Bruin for the San Gab related post on my previous posting. I'm hoping water level and fish level have both gone up since he went there. Also, if anyone else will be in the area, let me know. Thanks in advance and tight lines.

Probably looking at the West Fork of the San Gab River. I have a friend going who says he knows the hot spots but, I figured it couldn't hurt to see if amyone had some input.

The west fork is a good place to go. That was my home terratory before I moved to SD. One hot spot is at the first bridge about one or two mile hike right where bear creak meets with the west fork. when fly fishing you will mostly catch small fish. but if you use a night crawler 1/2 and blow it up toss it right into the white water coming from bear creak you'll have your limit in maybe an hour. When you go past the second bridge you have to use barbless hooks or DFG will fine. that is the natural brown trout area usually very small ones. Their are numorous spots to fish all through the river you just need to find them. Also going up bear creak trail are some good places ive fished their lots and their are lots of native trout there too. Well I need to go any more Que. write back.

Thanks for all of the info. I would love to catch a native. Only my second fly fishing trip since moving here so, I have yet to catch one. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again.
