Today it was really windy in San Luis but Seth and I went to the lake anyway and when we go there it was<BR> backing off and only one boat trailer was in the lot so we had the lake basically to ourselves. We went to<BR> jackass canyon first around 6pm. I decided to throw the Castaic baby bass since I hadn't tried it since last<BR> year. A dozen or so cast later and I nailed a 4.3 pounder, fat and healthy looking. It was cool having never<BR> done a thing on that bait before. In a side cove we saw a 100 foot wide school of small shad milling around<BR> but didn't catch anything out of that. In fact the rest of jackass was pretty dead so we motored back down<BR> to whiteoak. Seth got a pair of two pounders and a dink on a popper with me getting one dink in the first<BR> cove. Next cove I got another about 2lb's and lost one. By then it was really dark we had to scoot off the<BR> lake before we got yelled at. Pretty good night for a couple hours of fishing.
