The ponds are down here near Mission Viejo. They sit between MV and San Juan Capistrano. Do you live down this way?
I just went and got some more Robos and will hopefully head back tonight. I am actually using the 4", not the 5". Sorry for the misinfo guys. I picked up 2 packs (thats all they had at Anglers Marine) of the 4", 2 of the 5", and one from a company whose name I forgot. They are kinda like the Robo Zippers, but the ribs are bigger and so is the curl tail. Look fishy though.
Crankbaits are probably out though. These ponds are only like 5' deep and filled w/ lots o'weeds. It is actually a pain even now using a tex skinned C-rig. I tried a couple spinner baits before but it was frustrating. I will take Brian's advice and try an all black one again, but move it real slow. This is hard though since I hate being patient. We'll see though, if I get fish tonight I doubt I'll try anything else until I need a new challenge.
