Gonna do 2 days of bait fishing in SD bay. Today was the first. No legals halis or trophy catches but, lot’s of little stuff. We had 4” dines. Ninja and Oolie threw lures a lot. The smelt/mackerel fishing was great on hardbaits. I soaked some monster live baits a few times for BIG bite marks.

When Ninja hooked this spotty in 5’ of water we we’re watching a sea lion try to eat it,…Then we realized that it wasn’t sea lion it was a GIANT HALIBUT in 5’ of water trying to eat it. Yes, we went back for him. No we didn’t get him.

I took a short break from bait fishing and tossed a small swimbait. I made quick work of a spotty and a sandy.
