It's been a few years but I finally got a chance to fish with Larry again on the Calico Hunter III out at the channel islands. The bite wasnt wide open but it was a fun inshore boiler/hard bottom bite at Anacapa and Santa Cruz. We ended up with 46 legal sized bass, a couple of shorts, and a few rockfish. My friend Paul joined us along with my neice Alexa from Delaware. All fish were caught on swimbaits. Although we got them on a variety of colors, Blue Shad on a yellow jig head was the hot one.

Highlight of the trip was a quadruple hook up. Paul hooked up on a nice fish, shortly followed by Larry hooking up. Then I hooked up. Alexa's line was in the boat from her just catching a fish. My fish had a nice follower so I yelled to Alexa, "get your lure in the water", it took her a minute to figure out what I was trying to tell her... "No, don't cast, just drop it straight in." The minute she did the follower (a much larger bass than mine) bolted over and slammed her bait. It was awesome! She couldn't believe it.
