Catch a Humboldt Squid on the Patriot
Last night (Wednesday 2/17/10), Captain John Fisher and his deckhands (Ben and Jessie) took 18 passengers out Humboldt Squid fishing on The Patriot. The 18 passengers caught 121 squid, while catching a 40lb whopper close to the end of the night. The bite was wide open from the beginning of the night, it was soo heavy that the squid came up to the surface and anglers didn’t have to drop down 300 to 400 feet to hook up.
If you would like to join us please make a reservation by calling (949)675-0550, and try to arrive an hour early to check in for the trip. This Twilight Squid Fishing Trip departs at 5:30pm and arrives back to the docks around 10:30pm, the boarding pass is $40, and if you need squid jigs, weights, or licensing you can purchase them in our office before the trip. We recommend having 30–50lb test with at least 350 feet of line on your reel, multiple 8oz weights, and multiple squid jigs in case you lose one.
