i just got introduced to surf fishing and i was hoping for some info on what beaches in santa barbara co. are good for fishing, im looking at surf perch and possible halibut when in season.

I never had much luck with the halibut but it seems the guys that do are generally throwing swimbaits at Goleta Beach or south of the Wharf.

Perch are just about everywhere. My favorite spot in town has always been the southern part of Hendry's Beach (aka The Pit or Arroyo Burro) but you have to dodge the off leash dogs.

If you can drive a little ways south both Santa Claus Lane and La Conchita offer excellent perching.
