Jchapluk, Rob, Rob's dad and I jumped on the afternoon run today. The morning run reportedly went to Naples and did pretty good on the bass, but Capt. Billy took us to the armpit for the afternoon. It was a pretty steady pick on the Blams. Rob couldn't get em to eat the iron, but they chewed on the Blams pretty well. I ended up with 4 super sandbass, and 2 calicos. Not much size to any of em, my biggest (and jackpot winning) sandy was about 2lbs. Jason had a total of 6 bass and the exotic of the day, a whitefish, caught on plastic. Rob ended up with two, and I believe Vance had 2 as well. A pretty good day. I'll be back for more tomorrow morning.

Blams are the made from the same mold as the old Whams. They basically look like a little fish with a curly tail. Hot color was clear/ red flake.

Damn blamms, I resisted the urge to convert but Brian pretty much schooled me. My only pride is that I got the biggest calico on the boat with the Hammer. Stupid sand buggers! But it sure was a suuuppper weekend eh Brian :-)

From what I've seen, the blams aren't even from the original WHAM mold. They're damn close though. Anyhow, if you want to save a bunch of cash, check out http://www.floridaysfishing.com/5tails.htm. They have WHAM knock-offs for 20 cents apiece if you buy a 100 pack or 35 apiece in 10 packs. Glass Minnow, Irid. Red Pearl, Shrimp, and Clear Glit. Grn Back are my favorite colors.

That's actually where I used to get my WHAMS when they were still in business. They had the same prices, but were selling the actual WHAM lures under the 5" Minnow Tail name. When WHAM went under, they made their own molds.

Make sure to tell 'em I sent ya.

Adam
