I think I see what is screwing it up. When you upload the file for some unknown reason, it puts these two squares at the end of the file name. I can't even type the same mark it makes, but look below and you'll see what I mean. when you create you link to the image so that it shows up in the message, it should end .jpg or .gif. It should not end in two little squares. I'll have to fix the instructions. This was sOOO much easier in the older forum versions, I don't know why the decided to screw it all up in this one.

That's weird! At least I could post pics showing a link (and another page), but I want to be "even cooler" (like your instructions) and put one on the same page as my story...I'm not able to do this yet.
3692, squares = bad

Look at this picture

http://calfishing.com/images/help_pages/full_path_to_file.jpg

When you type in your link for your picture to make it show up in-line in your message, it needs to follow this exact syntax above. The name of the image 5klj548448dd84d.jpg will be different, but it needs to be the same syntax. The problem I was describing above in my message above, is that when you do the attachment and it puts the file name in the attachment window like

http://calfishing.com/images/help_pages/file_uploaded.jpg

SOMETIMES, for some reason, you will get these two small squares following the .jpg. It will look like:

Those little squares are BAD, they will cause your image not to show up when you post it.
So when you are typing in your link, just make sure it looks like this , and that there are no little squares after .jpg

I don't know what else to tell ya.
3693, have a look at this as well

If you post a message, and you have a small yellow G by your name, you are not logged into the forum. The post above explains the login process.
3694, Thanks Again Swimbait!

I will watch out for those "funny squares"...I swear though I typed the exact syntax above correctly (I tried about 10 times last night before actually posting a few)...I'm assuming the "U" in User above is Upper case...I tried it both ways though. Also when I preview, the pic doesnt come up?!...I'll try one again though!

I took the exact link for your picture from the original message in this thread and copied and pasted it into this message and it worked.

The U in User_files is a capital U. All links like this are case sensitive.

Swimbait, I'm a newby at this and to be honest...I barely know how to cut/paste well!? I just posted another pic which came up, would like to try another with...http://www.calfishing.com/dcforum/User_files/...right in front of the attachment #. I actually manually type this in...should I try to post again like this? What do you think? Thanks Swimbait!
3697, copying and pasting

When you do the attachment and it shows you the name of the file in the Attachment box below where you are typing the message, it's much easier to cut and paste this into your message, than to try to manually re-type the long string of letters and numbers. Use the mouse to highlight the file name. Right click on the highlighted text and select cut. Now go to your message where you typed in:

http://www.calfishing.com/dcforum/User_files/

and left click at the end of this link to put the cursor there.
Then right click again in this same spot and click on Paste. This will paste in the the name of the image like ajdsjd8das8d.jpg

Then you will have the link to your picture.
3698, I'll Try To Copy/Paste Swimbait...Thanks!

3701, I Finally Got It Swimbait!!!! Thanks!!!

Finally got it! My brain is burnt-out!? No need to reply back Swimbait, but the first time I tried to post the above message, the computer would not accept it since it was more than 50 characters long?...kind of weird...it took it the 2nd time though. For some reason (haha)I feel more comfortable posting a pic as a link for now, but it is nice to FINALLY post one on the actual message too!? No need to reply back...I'm sick of this for now...THIS THREAD IS DONE!!!!!!!!!!!
