I went on a charter on the condor tonight fishing the albies in arguello canyon. I was the deckhand and i was really excited. We left the dock at 10:00 and picked up 50 scoops of bait and were off. We had a 75 mile drive putting us on the spot around 5:30 in the morning. I was awakened by the captain and I went down to set up the troll rods. I put 4 trolling outfits out with zuccinie grass, abotion, mexican flag and a cedar plug. There were 5 passengers out on deck and myself. As I was placing the last trolling rod the first got bit. I yelled "hook up" and started throwing chum. The guy ground the fish to boat and yelled for a gaff I stuck it and threw it on the boat. About a 35 pound fish. We did not pick up any off of this stop but we did on our next stop. The next stop we sat on for 4.5 hours and caught fish the whole time. Once the bite slowed to a lull we went back on the troll. At this time we had 78 fish 30-65 pounds. The next two hours of fishing were spent on the last stop of the day were we pulled another 25 fish from 30-76 pounds at 2:00 pm we started home with 103 nice size albacore and alot of happy customers. I hope we can get a few more trips in this season.
The seahawk ia also running tuna trips from santa barbaras very own sea landing. Limited loads of 24 and a price of $165.00 every night.
Hope to see you on one.
