hey you guys just wondering if you think fishing the boat docks or going deeper around the boat moorings would be a better bet this time of year. are there any spots that consistently produce. i am mostly an offshore fisherman and want to give the habor a try. any additional info about the harbor would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
scott

In my experiences at the bay, the most consistant areas for the bigger bass and butts are around the coast guard docks and the moored boats across the way. That area of moored boats holds an incredible number of bass and butts. I have always hooked up while drifting that area, anywhere around there. You can also give the area around the PCH bridge a shot. Especially the two smaller channels to the southeast of the bridge. I usually try and set my drifts so I pass about 20 or 30 feet from the edge of the private docks in those channels. Alot of shorts in there but very productive none-the-less. Good luck if you go and post any reports.

i usually fish davey's locker dock which i've been catching a lot of short halibut. i've seen some keepers but their mostly short(around 12"-20"). davey's locker have live pinheads and thats what the 'butts are goin for.

hope the info helps.........
