Took my dad out for father's day on the Stardust. We took the morning run up the line to the pipe off
Goleta. Right away we caught a number of small miscellaneous rockfish in the shallow water. The bite was
picky but steady and we spent the morning moving along the pipe from spot to spot picking up the cods as
well as a few sandies and calicos. One guy landed a nice 28" halibut on a sardine. There were also a dozen or
so smoothound caught. I wound up the day with a few cods, one nice sandbass, and one shark. My dad
outfished me for numbers of cods and we had a good time. Water temps were 56 in the morning. I went for
the re-ride in the afternoon and we fished down off carp at the horseshoe and the armpit. Water temps rose
to 61 which gave me hope for some bass, but it was a strictly barni crowd on the boat in the afternoon so
we didn't exactly stroke them. I got one nice sandie early and lost a solid fish for no reason other than that it
fell off the hook. We wound up with a half dozen nice sandies and a few miscellaneous cods.
