got two frames finally!! for my penn 500 and 501 jigmasters. bought them in a place in huntington beach for about what accurate advertises them for on their site. little over fifty bucks each. i will probably leave the plates stock, but upgrade the handles soon. the guy at the store tried the old bait and switch telling me on the phone that he had some, and when i came in tried to sell me "better quality stuff" than an upgraded penn. he told me to junk or yard sale the jigmasters and go with a couple of stock newell's! said he is a big newell fan and that they are better reels. i told him that i would stick to what i know. he wanted to show me a five hundred dollar shimano. i laughed and told him that i would never pay five bills for a reel so i wouldn't even want to see it, even though i know it would be a much better reel than my jigmasters. i still bought two frames for my reels. he told me that my 500's would blow out the gears on a fifty pound tuna, maybe if i was running sixty pound test with a two foot crank handle! i know that a spool of forty on a back up spool is a little much for my 500, but i plan on a 4/0 senator by the next season. and if that is still too light, i'll just break out my trolling rod for bait.

p.s. the guy didn't piss me off, and i will go back there again, i liked the entertainment!

And that tackle shop would be...? :D

Don't forget to grease the threads and side surfaces on those Accuframes & get some longer screws to replace the short ones that went into the base...

hehe... anyone who'd tell ya to "junk" yer Jigmasters must be on commission! :D

I actually had a salesman at the Kearny Mesa Turner's store answer my inquiry with a long spiel about "idiots who believe everything they hear, etc etc etc..." This idiot took his money, left & never went back...
