Dan,

Your best bet would be to inquire at the Oceanside Harbor Master's Office regarding Float Tubing. I've seen guys launch yaks from the dock in front of the Jolly Roger Restaurant but I've never seen any Tubers there. Its a small Harbor with alot of boating traffic but less now than during the summer months.

As for the surf, one of my favorite haunts is at the foot of Wisconcin St. on either side of Life Guard Tower #7. Wisconsin is located about a mile or so south of the Oceanside Municipal Pier. Actually that entire stretch of beach is excellent for Corbs and Bardies. Lots of sand. Few surfers out at times but they are usually way out of range of my casts.

I usually have the entire beach to myself. I've never been able to figure out why more people are not into fishing from the beach here. Oh well, I'm not complaining!

Hope this info helps a little.

Fear no Fish! :D
