Myself, Steve and another lurker hit Shelter around 6am and fished until 11. Steve taught us a few lessons. Schooled us, big time. Steve had 17 spotties, myself and lurker had 6 each. Don't know about theirs, but at least mine were all legals, and only one was a small legal. By the time I stopped trying to make the fish eat the bigger baits, they were getting really picky.

I did pull my biggest fish, about 3#, on a Tight Line Lures zipper shad (watermelon/red flake). But, the rest came on a 3.5" Berkely Power Hawg (green w/black flake w/ pearl belly). T and C rigged worked. Steve did his all w/ a 3" Tight Line grub (watermelon/red flake).

Perfect wind conditions and air temp, light and mild. Water still right at 60ยบ or so. Tide was not moving like we had thought it would, very slow for a 5' swing.

Highlight of the day was an A-10 Warthog that buzzed the channel. Made me feel sorry for innocents in Iraq, very impressive weapon.

Sounds like a good time on the water. Those spotties are fun to catch.
