Hey Dan, glue is ok, but actually I hate it. Get some pliers then get a smaller nail. Hold the nail in the pliers, then heat the nail in the torch. Then you melt the bait using the nail, and squeeze the tear together while the plastic is still melted. Bing, your bait is as good as new. You can open up a tear with your fingers, and with the nail melt the entire lining of the inside of the tear. When you press it together and hold it, once it "dries", your tear is perfectly fixed. Its much better than glue. Hope that makes sense.

Also, if you are into magnets, you take the nail head and burn a perfect size chamber for your magic little magnets.
