11910, White is the ultimate finesse color

We stand in the boat and look down at a white lure. It sticks out like a sore thumb. People use white on beds because it's the easiest to see.

A bass sits in the water and looks up. He can't help it, his eyes are positioned that way. Ever watch a bass go after a lure on the bottom. He has to turn his whole body up 45 degrees to even get a look at it to to be sure where it is.

Ever swim down to the bottom of a pool, or even better to the bottom of the ocean in 8 or 10 feet of water, then look up? The whole scene is blinding right? If there was a black fish above you, you'd see it great. A white one would be hard to see. This effect is even more magnified on overcast days.

So long as your lure isn't laying on the bottom, white is the ultimate finesse color for this reason. It's just plain hard for the bass to see.

Agree/disagree? I'm tying up an all white triple trout for this weekend.
