12145, Christmas came early
Posted by Carrot Top, Tue Dec-25-12 09:15 PM
Been putting in some work on the stripers and it finally paid off. My goal at this lake has been a 10lb bass and a 20lb striper for probably the last 5 years. Still haven't gotten my 10lb bass or my 20lb striper. I skipped right into the 30lb class. Really not sure what else to say. Right place, right time.

Date: 12/24/2012
Rod: Okuma 7'11"XH (won on this site)
Reel: Calcutta TE
Line: Triple Fish Camo 25lb test
Lure: 8" Huddy (pictured)

Fish weighed 36lbs on the Berkley Digital Scale and was released.

Congrats dude. A well-deserved catch.

Edit: I still can't believe how big that thing looks. Jesus.

The fish was solid and round. Not sure if it was the same fish but right before I caught it there was a nice trout chase going on. This fish bit about 4 casts in. No other bites in the next 45 minutes.

I really wish I could have taken a picture of the fish being held up. Might be time to get a Gorilla Pod.

Very, very nice striper. So fat and round--it's shaped like a tuna!
