I assume you are using the Castaic swimbait, because you cannot bounce the softbait trout as it floats(unmodified) The 9" Osprey has really good action, though I would not recomend the 12". The Castaic Soft bait trout lures are awsome (ones with the hard plastic head) 9" and 12" but they need a little weight on the bottem to track better and gain a little depth. I have a 8" optimum swimbait the is OK. The ms slammer is a floating bait and did ok for me this late spring, but many use it through the year. I would start with the first 2 I mentioned.
