Swamp and I had a pretty tough day at Spring but a couple fish were caught and a couple lost. The water temp was up a few degrees to 53 and had cleared a bit but the cold and light rain & wind kept the fish from really waking up. We needed some sun to warm their backs.
Anyway, Swamp scored first with a 2.5 on a crankbait. I was next to get bit on a 7" Big Hammer. The fish bit and I swung. With a loud SNAP the line broke. Bummer.
Later Swamp had about a 5 lber on with a rattle trap but it came off. Then I stuck a 7.3 pound fish while flippin' dead tules on a black & red 3/4 oz Weapons Jig. Beautiful fish, all fat and ready to burst. I swear we both thought it would go 10 but the scale said otherwise. I stuck another fish about 3 1/2 to 4 pounds (est) which bit the same jig but threw the jig after a short fight.
That was it for the day. No pics of the 7 pounder. Sorry.

THANKS SWAMPY! Despite the slow bite, I had a great time. :)
You're always welcome here, dude.

Chris

Dude, Spring lake has been kicking out some nice quality. Seems like a lot of 3 to 7lb fish. That's cool you have been getting some bites on big hammers too. I wouldn't have thought that would work well with the conditions there, but it seems like they like them at that lake.

Yeah, I only wish I hadn't have dropped in the lake the only other duplicate of the bait I got hit on, when I was trying to show to Dave. D'oh!
The bigger fish will show soon.
