Anglers Marine in Anaheim 714.666.BOAT has a new bait on the market that they OEM. It's called the Eagle, and can be likened to a better Osprey bait. The head of the bait has an aluminum tube that protects the line as it goes thru the head to allow you to tie to the double treble hooks. The treble hooks are connected via heavy mono and crimps. The hooks are very quality and the bait itself has much more guts than the Osprey. If you've ever fished an Osprey, the question has to come to mind..."How is this line tie thing that attaches to the hook going to handle a bass over 5lbs?" Most guys I know modify their Ospreys so it can handle big fish, and maybe even add a stinger hook. The Eagle does it for you.
The bait is 9" and fishes very similar to the Osprey. It weighs about 6-8oz's I'm guessing. I'm attaching two files to check out. The bait swam perfect nearly every time. I did foul the tail with the hooks occasionaly, and the bait only ran funny when something about the hooks or bait was wrong.
Call up or visit Anglers Marine, and ask for Cameron Smith. Tell him Matt sent you.

Hey Matt, I like the setup of the rigging (except for the heavy mono, I'd prefer braid), but I've heard some bad stuff about the baits. I'm not going to form an opinion until I fish it though. -Brian
