6051, One WA State semi-trophy

Weather was warm today in very northern WA State (Bellingham area). I fished a private pond in my float tube and didn't catch anything. The wind was blowing pretty good to the west. I beached the tube and the fished from shore. I caught a one pounder near a floating dock with a purple and silver Yozuri suspending jerk bait. I then went to a golf course. The golf course has about 4 or 5 small ponds. Fished three ponds without a single bite. Then I followed a small feeder creek to another pond. The pond did not look deep. I cast the jerk bait near the mouth of the feeder creek and bam, fish on! Reeled in a nice 2 1/2 pounder. Found a 12ft laydown and made a perfect cast. A few jerks later and fish on! Landed a really nice 4 pounder. A 4 pounder may not seem like much to you California boys, but up here in Northern Washington that is very respectable. Especially in a pond that could not have been no more that 5 feet at the deepest. Tight lines.
